○. about bar 'String' history in GwangYang.
hello guys. I can't speak English very well. understand me please.
The bar has been almost six years. Time is really fast. I started this business when I was 31years old. it was February 25, 2008. I'm just loves music and guitar. that's why bar name is string from the guitar. and in this year(2013) once a month, we were 'open mic' event is executed.
I have to say about my foreign friends.
○. First-generation 2008
: Douglas(Canadian) and Kurt(South African). this guys made a Bar history. we made the acoustic band. Kurt(vocal&guitar), me(Guitar), Douglas(bass),TK(Drum). also we played original songs. almost once a week for one year we played music at the bar. we are very good friends. I think haha. sometimes fight, joke, laughter, drinking, smoking .... Foreign friends gave a party for me at String. open mic and dancing party, birthday party, farewell party etc..! I never forget it. I had great memory from 2008.
○. Second-generation 2009
: Ungers couple, David's couple, Kate Bingeman, Kate Elizabeth, Fritz etc.... all friends helped a lot for this bar. there's great person. sometime I thought, their love is much more than me about String. I don't know how I can ever thank you. when a party in here, the police came sometimes. because noise pollution from music. haha. To all the people in this world, I hope to understand about rock 'n' roll. Even police officers.
○. String BBQ-Korean style
:Spring and fall, we go to the park for eat grilled meat. the name of park is 'green land' in Posco island(it's not real island. has small bridge in there). We usually go on Sunday. also I like it. do you know? We are all zombies at the time. Because, the previous day hangover. it's awesome. haha.
also few US sailors has come here when they anchored in Gwangyang port. I have few sailor friends. Joe(U.S. Marine Corps), Ken(was U.S. Marine Corps), Grag..!
○. Band live music
: once a month at open mic
String has two house bands. "Moori","SiRubGbeer". play for cover and original songs. also the two local foreigner bands are present in Gwangyang city. name of "endermam", "warblechap ". and sometimes band from the other city for open mic or concert here.
○. 'bar Sting' has four things.
1. alcohol
2. friendship
3. guitar / music
(you can play the guitar if you want)
4. memory
★. Speical thanks to Mina. She worked hard at my side. Really hard. almost three years at String. 2008~ until 2010. I hope she is happy anywhere.
